Have just returned from our 1st trip to Thailand and we loved our first visit to Chaing Mai made all the better with a stay at Fern Paradise. The family were very attentive and welcoming. The surroundings beautiful covering a fairly small area this haven managed to capture our hearts!
The stilt rice huts were amazing and very pretty with mosi nets and en suite bathroom - shower a little slow! - bed comfy.
Great recreation areas underneath housing dining/recreation areas.
Breakfast overlooking the creek.
We had a tasty meal cooked by Mum one evening - had to give notice.
Would definitely go back.

We stayed at Fern Paradise during a Holiday in February. We are a family with two teenagers, but also were joined by a family with two young boys. We all loved the resort. The location was perfect, near to the city of Chang Mai, but enough a way to be quiet and restful. It was wonderful to learn a little about the Rice Barns and their history. The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful. They found us a driver for the week (who was also very good) and gave us great recommendations on where to go to eat and explore. The food at the resort was also wonderful. We ate a big breakfast there every morning, spent the day hiking and exploring the area, and several evenings we returned and had dinner at the resort. It was wonderful just to sit out in the evenings and relax!

This hotel is one of the reasons Chiang Mai is one of my favorite places in the world. I will not forget the hospitality of Dr. Niwat and Om and their family and the breathtaking beauty of the place!
It was such a fun experience with squirrels skimmering all over the place!

Definitely a must-do.

After the hustle and bustle of Bangkok we were ready for a change and we certainly got that with Fern Paradise.

A beautiful place. Accomodation was very unique and pretty yet had all the modern ammenities you need. It is set in such a quiet setting it really was wonderful

The breakfast was very good we had both traditional thai and western breakfasts and they were both very good.

Om was an excellent host - he helped us book a trip to a cookery school and sorted us out with taxi's whenever we needed them. Om's mother even bought my wife some flowers.

I do not understand the point that some people have made about Fern Paradise being far away from the city centre. Surely you knew this when you booked it (it really is only 10mins from the centre)? and secondly we did not find it a problem - we always got a taxi when needed and just arranged with the driver a time for them to pick us up (Patrick was an excellent driver - and had great knowledge of the area - we wished we had more time in Chiang Mai to do one of his tours).
