We were recommended the Amara by friends, who had a fantastic stay there. I can't say the same sadly! Check in was a shambles. Of our 3 nights there, we were woken at 7am by alarm calls we hadn't requested - THEN - on the final day when we DID request an alarm call in order to catch out flight, we didn't receive it! The plug got stuck in the bath on out second evening, while it was full. We informed reception of this at 5pm and, when we returned to our room at 3am we found it was still stuck, and full of dirty, cold bath water! We had also booked a taxi for the airport through the concierge the night before we left. We were informed it would be $x, which we kept aside in the currency. When it was 10 minutes overdue we started to panic, but no one seemed keen to chase it up. Then it transpired that it hadn't been booked at all. So they called another one, which turned out to be an executive airport car - we only knew this when we got to the airport (with very very little time to spare for our flight by now) and were charged twice as much as the Amara had quoted! Luckily the driver accpeted credit cards - if not we would surely have missed the flight.
Overall the hotel was lovely aesthetically, and very clean, but the service and organisation were very poor.
