I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel, based on the reviews on this site. Unfortunately it really didn't measure up in terms of service provided.
Pro's:
1. It is really nice to be away from the Strip, it's in a very quiet area, but only takes about 10 mins to walk from the MGM Grand to the hotel.
2. The room was HUGE, had a little lounge area, kitchen, massive bathroom (with whirlpool) and a balcony overlooking the pool
Con's:
1. Real issues with the card keys, sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't. Couldn't use mine to get into the pool - had to ask another guest to let me in.
2. Room service is really inadequate: We arrived at 3pm on a Friday and decided to have a good night out, so we didn't get to bed until gone 4am. We'd put the 'Don't Disturb' sign up as we wanted to sleep in. At 4pm Housekeeping called to ask if we wanted the room to be serviced, we said yes and that we'd be leaving the room within the hour and if they could do the room then, that would be great. Five hours later we returned and the room hadn't been done. We contacted Housekeeping and they said the the 'Don't Disturb' sign was still up (it wasn't). We weren't happy with the attitude of the staff with this issue and the room was serviced the next day, but after paying $200 a night, I expect much better room and staff service than that.
3. You pay $15 a day 'resort fee' which includes papers, internet and two very small (330 ml) bottles of water a day. You only got the water if your room was serviced and as mine was not...
4. a random issue, but when you use the entrance from the MGM Grand to the walkway to the hotel, you have to use your key card (which is reasonable). However the gap between the key-card slot and the door is quite substantial and the amount time you have to open the door is quite short, you don't always succeed in getting through the door.
5. The front doors on the hotel (where you check in) do not open automatically and the staff are not always aware that someone is struggling with suitcases through these ridiculously heavy doors.
I plan on returning to Las Vegas (which is amazing) but I certainly will not be staying here based purely on the attitude of the room service staff and the $15 resort fee which I didn't feel gave you very much. I should also point out that I'm quite happy in hotels and rarely complain, but I was greatly disappointed with this hotel.
