This trip was an awesome experience and a must if you are on the Big Island. Lori picked us up at the airport and was very friendly. We (me, wife, & son) got a private tour since no one else was on the tour that day. Lori was very knowledgable about plants, the valcano, Hawaiian culture & legends, and even a little Pigeon English. We made an offering to Pele (see the shoes in the photo). Lori brought us to all of the must see spots on the volcano. We had a great time and she even bought my son a birthday present since his birthday had just passed. We not only had a great time on the tour but made a good friend in Hawaii. If you go on this tour you will not be disappointed. Attached are some of the great photos from the tour.

Lori Alana owner and tour operator was very knowledgeable about the volcanoes and other attractions in Hawaii. Her tour is packed full of information in a fun and intimate way. We went away from the tour feeling like we had just made a new friend! My twin 13 year olds were very interested too. Lori was very accommodating and carried our luggage since we flew in from Honolulu just an hour before the tour started.
Another nice and personal feature that Lori has, is that she communicated via email to us for several mounths before our vacation and answered all of our questions related and unrelated to our tour.
Lori says if you travel on one of her tours once, the next time is free if she has space. We can't wait to take her up on that!! Keep up the great service Lori.

We did the day trip to the summit and loved it, especially as the volcano looked very impressive with the sulfur dioxide bellowing out of it. Lori was a great guide, she was enthusiastic and had a wealth of knowledge. She told us a few Hawaiian legends which helped to make our experience all the more Hawaiian. We drove from Kona, it was a lovely drive but in hindsight we should have stayed at least a night or two in Hilo to better explore the area. We would defintely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the volcano!

Let's start by saying that seeing a real, live, active volcano was always a dream of mine. I never got to see real lava flowing (as you need to see that at night), but what I did see, courtesy of Vavoom Volcano Tours and the very knowledgeable Lori Alana, tour guide guru, will stay with me forever! There was a blip in the beginning at the airport, thanks to modern technology called cell phones, but the rest of the day more than made up for it! We made our way to the park in a very comfortable tour van and right away, I could tell that the day would be great, thanks to Lori. I won't divulge too much information as you should really experience it for yourself, but she is full of information about Hawaii, the state, the history, the island itself, and of course, the volcanoes! It was great to see and feel the steam vents, see the plums of smoke billowing out of the crater, and the hike across Kilauea Crater was priceless. Lori shared so much about the flora of the area and which plants were endemic, she gave a lot of histroy about the crater and offered to take photos of us (there was only 3 of us in our group). Lunch at the Volcano House was good as well. She picked us up at the airport and dropped us off. It was a fabulous day! Thanks Lori!!
