“The Best!!!”

This is the BEST attraction on Maui. The Kanaio Coast tour is not to be missed. Our group was ages 6 to 70 and everyone had a blast. Don't waste your money on any other type of snorklel trip. We snorkeled Molikini before the crowds arrived. We also toured the lava flows of the Kanaio Coast, which cannot be seen any other way. (You can't get there by land or any other boat).

Immediately upon leaving Kihei boat ramp, we saw bottlenose dolphins. and later in the tour we stopped for more snorkeling and saw several sea turtles.

We just took the tour today and everyone wants to do it again before we leave!

“The highlight of our trip!”

Awesome Awesome Awesome!!! We took the 5.5 hour tour on the final full day on Maui. Everything else we did leading up to that paled in comparison. What a blast! If you do one thing on Maui, this should be it. The great thing about Blue Water is that only 20 or so people fit in the boat so when you find a great snorkeling spot, you're not surrounded by 100 other people and getting kicked in the head all the time. Captain Brad and Seti were very competent and made the trip fun, with Captain Brad's iPod providing a fabulous soundtrack as we busted over the waves. We hit maybe 4 different snorkeling spots, some OK and some incredible, including the back wall of Molokini. Great tour of the Kanaio coast and lava caves.

This is a great trip for teenagers who are unimpressed by everything. Mine were grousing about having to get up early and make the drive from Kapalua, spending more time snorkeling to see the same old fish, etc. But as soon as we got past the boat ramp and Capt. Brad turned on the classic rock and we started jumping over the other boats' wake they were grinning from ear to ear.

Bring lots of sunscreen and sunglasses. Don't bother with a hat because you won't be able to keep it on anyway. There is dry storage that you can access any time during the day for things like a bag, camera, towels, cover ups, etc. Even if you don't snorkel YOU WILL GET WET! If you have a rash guard, bring it for warmth. If you get seasick, it wouldn't hurt to take a dramamine. My husband was glad he did.

“Best snorkeling thrill ride you will ever experience”

My husband and I have experienced many snorkeling trips but none like Blue Water Rafting. What an experience! This was a referral from a friend and was the best choice ever.

I sat in the back of the boat since they advised anyone concerned with a bad back or sea sickness to sit in the back to minimize the ride. By the end of the trip I wanted to experience the thrill of the ride and moved to the middle part of the boat. It was sooo much fun! We did the 5.5 hour trip that included Molokini island. WOW!

First we visited some sea caves along the coast, swam with turtles and the best snorkling was left for last in Molokini. The took us to three different areas of the island and my husband even saw a shark. (I was outta there!) But everyone else wanted to see it.

I will never again do a snorkeling trip with 150 of your closest friends. This was definitely one of our highlights of our trip! We will definitely be doing this tour again!

“Greatness”

My back was a bit sore the next day, my arms were a bit sore from holding on tight (you need to), and my one knuckle had a small cut, but that was completely worth it.

Great views, decent lunch provided, and very thrilling. They really mean it when they say "adventure rafting".

After this, the idea of any other snorkel/boat trip sounds like a snooze.

Note: we did the 5.5 hour trip, which apparently nobody else does. It is way worth it. The snorkeling they take you to in the 4 hour trip is just average. I saw a turtle....big deal. The snorkeling at Molokini in the last part is freaking amazing.

Do the 5.5 hour trip and expect to be worn down. And most importantly, REAPPLY YOUR SUNSCREEN! I was so burnt it was absurd....but that is my own fault.

“Loved every second - if you do 1 thing on Maui - DO THIS!”

Having done the huge catamarans that take 150 of your closest friends out to Molokini a few years back I knew this time around I needed something different. Well we got it! Our family of 4 booked the 5 hour Molokini tour and it was incredible. I can't stop bragging to folks back home about how exciting it was and how it was THE BEST activity we did on all of Maui.

We had Capt. Brian (rhymes with Hawaiian) and his Co-capt Mike. They were hilarious! Cheesy but in such a great way if that makes sense. And ladies, I'd be a fool not to say it but they're hot which is such a bonus, right!

Right from the start they went over safety warnings, precautions and how best to sit on the boat etc. I read the other post where it sounds like some people got hurt so I was a bit worried before we went but I never found either of them to lack concern for our safety. They were certainly out to give us the thrill of a lifetime but they always put our safety first. They'll also tell you to sit in the back if you have a bad back because you don't feel the landing from the 7-10ft waves as much.

I sort of wish I had listened! I originally sat in the back because I have a tendency to get sea sick. We started out headed south and immediately you could see what they meant about feeling every wave and bump the boat went over. Halfway to the lava formations we stopped because there were tons of spinner dolphins swimming along side us. There were also a lot of sea turtles that they kept pointing out. Of course when I moved up to the front to take pictures I found that my seat in the back was quickly gone.

No big deal I thought - right - the ride here was nothing! Ok people then they really open her up!! They took off going over these waves and it was awesome! Was it bumpy - Yes! Will you get soaked - Yes! Did I think I was going to go flying off the boat when I was lifted at least 12" up in the air - Of Course! And just like they said it's a rough pounding when you come back down from the waves! All that being said - it was the best trip ever!!

I was scared to death and thrilled all at the same time. Just like a roller coaster, it was thrilling but I also knew I was in good safe hands.

After touring through the sea arches we stopped at La Peruse to snorkel for abut 20 min and it was ok. Not bad saw some cool fish but the clarity was nothing great - just ok. From there we headed to Molokini where we had an awesome spot! Clarity like you wouldn't believe and unlike last time I was there, we saw tons of fish everywhere!! By the time we arrived most of the morning boats had left or were on their way out. I wouldn't be surprised that it helped us see a few more fish when we snorkeled. After all, 1K + people had just left! If I was a fish I sure as heck would wait till they've gone!

We snorkeled two spots near Molokini and then their secret spot a short distance off. Whether it was a secret or not - it was awesome! They stopped the boat and did a drift dive. There was coral so they couldn't drop an anchor. It was incredible. We floated over all this coral and then just like they said you come over a mound of coral to a drop in the ocean that feels like the edge of the world - 400ft deep!

The ride back was a lot calmer which was a perfect ending to a really exciting day. They have dry storage sections but keep in mind you get so wet that these only keep your stuff mostly dry - I had a few things that were damp as I expected. Anything you can't allow to get wet should also go in a zip lock bag!

I never would have thought when we started out that the tour would be as fun or exciting as it was! Loved it!! Will definitely recommend it and return!!
