“a solid choice!”

Royal Lahaina Resort

3 of 5 stars
Calgary AB

The Royal Lahaina, although a bit overpriced (like most places in Maui), turned out to be a decent choice. It was really conveniently located right on gorgeous Kaanapali beach. It had two small but lovely pools and rented the usual selection of snorkel gear etc from the poolside cabanas. Room service food was not too bad (cornbread was delicious) and there's a decent coffeeshop on site. The trolley runs on time and takes you to and from the other nearby hotels. it also connects you with Maui transit. so you can easily get into Lahaina. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There was also an activities desk in the lobby as well as a car rental company. Also, my room in the tower was really nice and recently renovated. I changed my reservation at the last minute. because I had read that the cottages weren't in very good shape. I could see some of the cottage roofs need repair pretty badly, but I never saw what they were like on the inside. My only complaint about my stay is that sometimes the housekeeping wasn't great.

We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort from Sept .5 - Sept.12th.
Everything about this hotel was impressive from the "God's view" room ( Room 1112), to the hotel staff & the friendly wait staff, everything was well done. We met a lot of wonderful people there, and everyone was very friendly. My conversations with other guests was positive too, it was truely paradise.

The pool was nice, the ocean view even better and the sunsets were right out of the movies.

“Perfect!!!”

Royal Lahaina Resort

Sep 10, 2008

We stayed here after being in the fabulous Las Vegas and I thought nothing would be as good, I was wrong! We had a beautiful room in the new tower section. The room was fantastic. The bed was huge! we had a great view. The staff were very helpful and we could roll out of bed on to the most perfect beach ever! The food was delicious in the restaurant and the resort was lovely.

“never want to leave maui”

Royal Lahaina Resort

Sep 8, 2008

My wife and I just returned home after spending a week @ the Royal Lahaina Resort celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a deluxe room on the 10th floor that had an outstanding view of the ocean. All the staff were more than helpful courteous. One of our favorite things to do was spend the sunset hour @ the poolside lounge and listen to the guitarist/singer ( I'm sorry but I forgot his name ) and watch the hula dancer ( I believe her name is Wainani ). These 2 folks were so interested in the guests and always took time to ask people where their are from. Upon finding out the purpose of our vacation, Wainani presented my wife with a beautiful lei to bring home. The bartenders and waiters/waitresses provide excellant/ speedy service that is 2nd to none anywhere that we have travelled. We will recommend this hotel to all our friends and relatives.

“Royal Lahaina Exceeded All Expectations”

Royal Lahaina Resort

Sep 3, 2008

My husband and I spent the last week in Maui and Oahu for our anniversary, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience at the Royal Lahaina. We were upgraded to a partial oceanview upon arrival and had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. The view from our balcony was amazing! The room was very clean, the king size bed was very comfy and the staff was extremely helpful. We got a package that included breakfast and a rental car from Dollar, and with all of that the rate was still better than most of the major resorts in Kaanapali. The resort has 2 pools...we only went to the one in front of the restaurant. It always had open seats and had a very calm atmosphere. The beach was just a few feet away from the pool. It was never crowded and the water was unbeleivable. We had booked several excursions before we got to Maui, but once we arrived at the Royal Lahaina all I wanted to do was hang out there (my husband said no to that idea). While staying in Maui, we did the Ekahi Sunrise Tour of Haleakala Crater, a luau at the Feast at Lele, and a snorkel cruise to Lani'i with Safari Adventure Tours. We loved all of these and would do them again if we went back Maui. After 4 days in Maui, we headed to Honolulu to do the Pearl Harbor thing before we flew back home. We spent 2 days in Honolulu, and if I could do it over again, I would never have left Maui.
