My girlfriend & I stayed for 6 days at 1 of the newly renovated tower rooms. We originally booked a terrace room not realizing we would be right above the ac fans, lady at the desk kindly upgraded our room to a top floor ocean view for a discounted fee...nice way to start your stay :-) ... As soon as we arrived to our room, we were inlove w/the view, a nice ocean view to the right of our balcony, the garden straight ahead, & the mountain view to the left ... it was more than i imagined. Our whole stay was great. Staff was great, from the bell to the dining, service was wonderful. The hotel restaurant had a nice patio dining, where we had buffet breakfast 3 days out of the week, w/a nice view of the ocean & were even lucky enough to see whales right from our seats. Royal Lahaina was close to the Whaler's Village & other hotels. What I loved most about the Royal Lahaina, was it's own beach. Although it is close to the Whaler's Village, RL beach has it's own private & quiet beach separate from the busy Whaler's Village. Only those that truly stayed at RL was at the beach, so not much of a crowd but enough to socialize with. One con about the Royal Lahaina, was it's elevators, although they had 4 elevators, there were usually only 1 or 2 that worked. I understood, they're in process of renovations, so maybe those will be next. But I must say, there wasn't anything that could've ruined my stay at the Royal Lahaina. We are looking forward to returning to Maui, & I would not hesitate to return to Royal Lahaina.
