“great value, beautiful rooms in tower”

Royal Lahaina Resort

New Jersey

We had booked this room via Priceline for a great deal of $100/night in the October season, and were nicely surprised. The resort is very pleasant and comfortable, and the main thing is that the room we received in the tower was excellently furnished, with modern renovated decor, bathroom, and beds.

I had been a little apprehensive about receiving this hotel via Priceline because of prior reviews about the cottages being a little outdated and in mediocre condition, but it certainly does not apply to the tower rooms -- they are beautiful. And I verified beforehand by calling the hotel that our Priceline room would be in the tower.

There was free wireless internet access, a pretty good deal on early dinner ($25/person, which we unfortunately didn't get to try), and a very nice beach area.

The only flaws were -- 1) that we smacked a cockroach in the bathroom one of the nights, but quickly disposed and forgot about it. 2) Parking is $10/day, I believe, which is basically mandatory (kind of like a resort fee) because there is no other convenient parking around there. 3) parts of the hotel could use, or are actively being renovated, such as the lobby (being fixed up) or elevators (which look a little outdated).

Other than that, we enjoyed our stay very much, and were pleased with the deal we got!

“Very Nice”

Royal Lahaina Resort

Very nice. Booked through Priceline and got a great deal. Right on the beach and the room was clean, comfy and tastefully decorated. Snorkeling at Black Rock down the beach was incredible with several big turtles, eagle rays and lots of colorful fish. I didn't like paying $10 a day to self-park, but that's getting to be the norm in a lot of places.

“Amazing Honeymoon while staying at the RL!!!”

Royal Lahaina Resort

5 of 5 stars
Green Bay, WI

My husband and I stayed at the RL for our honeymoon from Sept 2nd-Sept 10th. I can't say enough about this hotel! It is very authentic in the Hawaiian culture. Everyone was very friendly upon our arrival at the RL. We stayed 2 nights in the Garden Cottage where we were then upgraded to an Ocean View (Rm 4012). Our room was AMAZING!!! The decor had a nice Hawaiian touch! The best part of the room was having the opportunity of sleeping with your patio door open at nice listening to the ocean.
The pools are on the smaller side, but who needs the pool when your just steps away from the ocean!?
Don the BeachCombers was a great litle hangout on the property of the RL. Richard the bartender was a RIOT!!!! We found our way down there every night for our Free Mi Tais that we had included with our package.
Everyone at the RL was very helpful and informational. We had a hard time leaving the RL, but we will definitely be back!!!:-)

“Loved the Royal Lahaina Resort”

Royal Lahaina Resort

We stayed at an ocean front cottage in the Royal Lahaina Resort just steps to Kaanapali Beach one of the most beautiful beaches in Maui. The staff and manager (Kory) were wonderful and accommodating would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. The resort is set away from other hotels and is very private but still within walking distance of main shopping centers (Whaler Village) and great restaurants (Basil Tomatoe). We rented a car but there is a shuttle bus from the resort to Front Street down town Lahanina and also to Whalers Village. We arranged to go to Pearl Harbor through Pleasant Holidays located in the front Lobby of the hotel and would recommend this tour the kids loved it and was well worth going to. This was one of the best holidays and if you are lucky enough to be able to go to Maui try out this resort.

“Will be back ...”

Royal Lahaina Resort

5 of 5 stars
Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Oct 4, 2008

My girlfriend & I stayed for 6 days at 1 of the newly renovated tower rooms. We originally booked a terrace room not realizing we would be right above the ac fans, lady at the desk kindly upgraded our room to a top floor ocean view for a discounted fee...nice way to start your stay :-) ... As soon as we arrived to our room, we were inlove w/the view, a nice ocean view to the right of our balcony, the garden straight ahead, & the mountain view to the left ... it was more than i imagined. Our whole stay was great. Staff was great, from the bell to the dining, service was wonderful. The hotel restaurant had a nice patio dining, where we had buffet breakfast 3 days out of the week, w/a nice view of the ocean & were even lucky enough to see whales right from our seats. Royal Lahaina was close to the Whaler's Village & other hotels. What I loved most about the Royal Lahaina, was it's own beach. Although it is close to the Whaler's Village, RL beach has it's own private & quiet beach separate from the busy Whaler's Village. Only those that truly stayed at RL was at the beach, so not much of a crowd but enough to socialize with. One con about the Royal Lahaina, was it's elevators, although they had 4 elevators, there were usually only 1 or 2 that worked. I understood, they're in process of renovations, so maybe those will be next. But I must say, there wasn't anything that could've ruined my stay at the Royal Lahaina. We are looking forward to returning to Maui, & I would not hesitate to return to Royal Lahaina.
