“Great Location, Great Service”

Nine Zero Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Fort Lauderdale

I booked this hotel for its central location and was not dissapointed. The service is great, Thomas, the concierge was able to get me two Red Sox tickets for a cheaper price than on any website I had checked for weeks. He also recommended and reserved a great restaurant in the North End for me and my wife. Everyone was great from the bellman to the valet. I'll be sure to book here the next time I am in town.

“Great hotel, great location, good value in an expensive city”

Nine Zero Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

Jul 31, 2008

This is a lovely hotel. Hotels in Boston are pricey so I thought that this place was good value - expensive but good standard, really nice contemporary decor.
Stayed here with my mother for a long weekend in March and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It's excellently placed for sight seeing in Boston, which is frankly a small and accessible/easily navigable city.
We never ate in the restaurant but it seemed very much 'the' place for out of towners 'in the know' and locals alike. We chilled in the bar, where the bar staff were cool and reserved, but polite and quite sweet - letting my mum and I taste the cockails before we decided what to have next!
This hotel has two main drawbacks; firstly, the heinously expensive mini bar - easily addressed by staying out or frequenting the 7 Eleven down the street! the second issue is slightly harder to resolve - our room looked out over a side street which obviously housed the bottle banks and trash bins for nearby bars, or perhaps the hotel's own. Whatever - the noise of rubbish and glass being thrown into the bins, and then the early morning street cleaners was pretty disturbing. The hotel should invest in some better soundproofing for these rooms - this is not a bargain basement hostel - at these prices and with the level of comfort and style offered in the rooms, this really tainted the otherwise great experience.
Oh, and the concierge could have been more helpful. We were trying to find and book some restaurants recommended by a friend and he made no offer to call and book on our behalf, etc. Would have been a nice touch.

Received Travelzoo alert on this hotel in May. Family of 4 on first trip to Boston. Two days before the trip I realized I did not book the right length of stay and the reservation was revised with no hesitation! During our stay the staff and concierge were very helpful with trolley tickets, limo service and restaurant recommendations to suit our needs (kids) and remembered our names. The location is superb. We walked just about everywhere and metro station is 1/2 block away. Book the highest floors for a stunning view of Boston Common. On the 4th the parade stopped for almost an hour right in front of the hotel. Later we avoided the fireworks crowds, and cranked up the JVC stereo provided and listened to the POPS simulcast while enjoying the show from the room. Very comfortable beds. Bathroom had a little mildew. A few modifications and flat screen tv could add a few more sq ft to the nice size. See pics!

We are huge Kimpton fans and the Nine Zero did not disappoint. It was perfectly located on the Freedom Trail (which was the purpose of our trip) and we never needed to get our car from valet.

Stayed at the NineZero because they had a great deal on Expedia. I have stayed at Kimpton Hotels before and never really enjoyed it. The decor is usually flamboyant and has a cheap feel to itself. Here, the style is very toned down. I stayed here on business but it is a great leisure hotel as well. There is a cemetery across the street where Samuel Adams a buried. On a less morbid note, you'll enjoy Park Street T station with the red and green lines, proximity to Faneuil Hall, Public Garden and Copley place which you can walk to in about 15 to 20 minutes.

The staff is very sweet. Always very polite, obviously very well trained. Smiles abound. The one thing that really prompted the 5 out of 5 rating was the room service food. As much as I was not particularly impressed with the breakfast, I absolutely loved the room service dinner food. I asked for a fruit salad which was not on the menu but that was not a problem. A superb salad of very fresh fruit was delivered within 15 minutes. A true delight. I also had the best French Fries in a very long time. Oh, and when I asked for a rare steak, guess what, it was delivered rare! All in all, I highly recommend this hotel. Do not expect a 5 start, this is "only" a 4* but a 4* with no glitch, a rare occurance in the hotel world.
