We stayed here for a few nights in August and have no complaints. It is a standard business hotel, so nothing really thrilling about it, but nothing bad either. Rooms are nice enough size, with a sofa and small desk. Bathrooms are fine (once I figured out that the water wasn't running out because the drain cover was on, which wasn't clear from looking at it). It's a little run-down looking in parts, but clean.
The warm cookie on check-in is a nice touch - I could have done with one every day! We had breakfast in the restaurant every morning and the selection is nice - the breakfast buffet is good value if you're hungry.
There is a small indoor pool and a larger outdoor pool, though we didn't use either. They looked nice, however. We did use the coin laundry, which was handy for anyone on a longer trip who doesn't want to pay hotel laundry rates or carry bags of clothes out of the hotel to a public laundry.
The hotel is located directly opposite a trolley stop, which was handy for going downtown, and the Fashion Valley shopping mall is one stop down.
Overall this was an okay experience and for the price of hotels in San Diego, relatively good value.
