“Even under renovation it was a wonderful expertience!!”

We visited Jamaica in June of '07 and stayed at what once was the Wyndham Rose Hall Resort...it has now been bought by Hilton Hotels. The place was totally under construction. However, that did not stop our family from having an amazing time!! The big pool was closed and totally torn up so the only pool available was the lazy river. However, the lazy river and the poolside bar that connected to it was about as perfect as perfect could be. What more could you want? Although, we had to walk around construction (scaffolding, torn up sidewalks) it was still a great vacation! The staff was friendly and anxious to please. We had the privilege of staying in one of the newly decorated rooms and was it nice! The food was fabulous...although the main dining area was closed...they still served magnificent buffets! I just went on line and saw the "after" pictures. It looks beautiful! Can't wait to return to see the renovations. You will not be disappointed here!! One word of advice...go easy on eating with an all inclusive. Even after doing the golf course fitness walk every morning...4.5 mi ...and 30 min on the elyptical everyday....I still gained 7 lbs in one week.!! You just can't pass up all that good food...especially those delectable desserts and frozen drinks!!

My wife and I just returned from a week's vacation at this resort. As we are in our 60's, we were somewhat apprehensive about the number of children that would be visiting with their families. However, as the water park is on one side of the resort and the main pool in another area, it did not prove to be a problem.

We found the food to be very good. The Fresh restaurant offered a good variety of food. The Three Palms and Luna di Mare restaurants offered good food in addition to nice ambience. The only negative was that on the AIP plan there was an upcharge for certain items on the menu.

Beverages were plentiful and easy to obtain.

There were ample spots around the complex for sunning, swimming, relaxing. There were ample lounge chairs throughout the resort , as well as inner tubes for the lazy river. However, you had to arrive very early in the morning to be assured of getting a cabana by the main pool.

Entertainment at night was about what we expected for a resort of this size. Not outstanding, but certainly acceptable. For those folks looking for an all night party, this would not be the resort for tthat level of entertainment.

Staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. We did tip frequently although it was not necessary. Each and every tip seemed to be greatly appreciated.

As you can surmise from reading the above, we will be visiting this resort again.

This was the second all inclusive we stayed at during our trip to Jamaica. I was not impressed. Yes the Hotel is beautiful, all marble and glass. The rooms are huge and very comfortable. The food is excellent. However the beaches are not there. They built the hotel to close to the ocean and have lost all there beach. We found the people who stayed here very stuck up to put it nicely. Not friendly at all. The water park is cute. The entertainment was ok. This is a resort for couples who are going to spend a lot of time in their room. This is also a resort for golfers. Not much to do other than that. "all inclusive is very limited." They do not include airport transfers. That is an additional $25.00. Their prices for taxi's are insane. Lot's of items not included in the "all inclusive package." If you are looking to stay on the beach, have a lot of fun, and get engaged with the staff and the other vacationers this resort is not for you. For the price it costs I was very disappointed. There is another all inclusive up the street that is cheaper and so much better. I would not stay here again.

“A Phenomenal First Time Experience!!!”

Just got back from Rosehall Resort & Spa...stayed from Jul 18-22. Let me first thank the previous reviewers and commend them on their accurate accounts of their stay at Rosehall. Everything helped tremendously. This resort is phenomenal! The minute we entered the hotel, we were greeted with fresh pineapple juice while we were checking in.

Everyone is so helpful and attentive to your needs that you almost feel like royalty. Tipping is not required for outstanding service; however, the staff make you want to give without reserve. Definitely please compensate these hardworking, dedicated individuals. Several times if something was not out on the Fresh buffet - you only need to ask and before you know - it's being delivered to your table! The buffet has something for everyone and changes daily; I could never get tired of the neverending options. I didn't get a chance to experience the other restaurants; however, I did make reservations and needed to cancel them. You will not be charged the $35 unless you don't cancel at least 15 minutes before the reservation.

The poolside service for drinks and swimup bar are the best as well. The drinks seem to be topshelf and even if they're not, I did not get any headaches that are typical with cheaper alcohol. Very good drinks and if you don't know what to drink - just ask and the waitress/waiter are good at suggestions.

The nightly entertainment was great and the staff worked overtime to make sure everyone had a good time. Finally, I must say that the rooms are well maintained and the beds - just outstanding...pillowtop mattresses and the fluffiest pillows ever! I am planning my return back as we speak...I absolutely loved Rosehall for my first Jamaican excursion and can't wait to return. Doubt very seriously if I'll even look at another resort there again. Enjoy your trip!

“With a little effort it could have been great”

Rose Hall Resort & Spa, A Hilton Resort

Well If I had known it was a Hilton when I checked in and had my Honors card perhaps I would have gotten a better room. My family and I travel to Jamaica frequently and have returned to this property numerous times. In the past I never booked anything but Run of the house and always had an ocean veiw room. This time my travel agent upgraded to ocean veiw. I will say we had not been during the renovations nor since it was no longer a Wyndham. We landed at 1pm and still did not have a room by 5:30pm,,,when we got a room( I had requested golf course side) we got a room overlooking the roof. The rooms have all been renovated and the sliders all replaced..except for the room we were in! I called the front desk to tell them the slider did not work but no help or room change. The resort looks good the new Fresh is ok but gets old after a week. We used to eat at the golf course alot but now you can only eat at the upscale restuarants twice in a visit and besides it cost $100 on top of the all-inclusive rate for many menu selections. When I asked the concierge to print my boarding passes he handed me the mouse to his computer and told me to do it myself, which I dont mind, but his printer wasnt working so it took over an hour to this. I dont think that it is an unusual request. I would like to compliment the nurse who was very helpful after a jellyfish sting. I guess I was dissapointed in not being treated like returning guests should be( and had always been so by Wyndham) and will not be returning to this hotel.
