Travelers often supplement their vacation activities with a few hours (or a few days!) of shopping.  Curacao is an excellent place to do this, especially for visitors seeking to obtain high-end items during their stay.  This is because there is a shopping section in Curacao which offers duty-free shopping.  This section is located between the neighborhoods of Punda and Otrobanda (for more information about these neighborhoods, visit http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g14... ).  These two neighborhoods lie on either side of the St. Anna Bay and are joined by a walking bridge called Queen Emma where the duty-free stores are located.

In addition to the duty-free shopping of Queen Emma, there are several other shopping districts, primarily located in and around those two main neighborhoods of Willemstad.  The downtown areas and historic areas are the most enjoyable places for most visitors to shop because they get to enjoy the history of the area while picking up local handicrafts and modern necessities.

Many tourists enjoy mingling with local artisans and farmers at the open air outdoor markets of Curacao.  The New Market and Old Market are favorite spots where tourists often get groceries during their stay in Curacao.  The Floating Market is another favorite in the area.  More information about shopping can be found in the online version of the Shopping Guide which is available at http://www.curacao.com/ActivitiesEven... .
