When traveling to Albany, visitors will find of few options available.  One of them is by air.  The Albany International Airport (ALB), located just outside of the main city, handles air traffic from most major US carriers and some international carriers.  The airport offers ground transportation to passengers in the form of rental cars, taxis, buses, and hotel shuttles.  (Contact your hotel to find out if they offer this service.)   More information about the airport, including directions, is available at their website.

Albany is also easily accessible by car.  The city, located off the New York State Thruway, is also close to several other major highways including New York Route 88, the Adirondack Northway, and Taconic Parkway.  Directions and Maps are available at the Convention and Visitors Bureau's transportation page

Another way to get to Albany is by train. Amtrak trains have regular stops in the city, arriving from several other cities in the northeast and beyond.  See Amtrack's website for details.
