St.Petersburg is lively city with an amazing nightlife. To experience the blossoming new youth of St.Petersburg it is important to steer away from the "popular" clubs, where you might find yourself surrounded by aggressive attention seekers and russian "nouveau-riche", which might be quite an unpleasant atmosphere. To experience, the real St.Petersburg it is essential to go to places that locals love.

Platforma - Nekrasova, 40 (metro station Ploschad' Vosstaniya), a great atmosphere, along with amazing live music. The selection of beer is also quite good. In addition there is a library in the back, so you can enjoy your beer while reading Dostoevsky. Movie showings, poetry readings, and art shows happen on a regular basis. Do not be thrown off by the "trashy" look of the exterior, the inside is comfortable and clean.

Novus - Bol. Morskaya, 8 (right next to the Hermitage under the arc), a new club with the hippest crowd in town. This is the place where the indie-rock-alternative crowd of St.Petersburgs spends its time. A place full of interesting college students, a new generation of non-Soviet youth. Each night features a great DJ, with music varieing from ska, to soul, to electronic. A great place for dancing. Although the dancefloor is small, having a good time is guaranteed. Due to its amazing location, a stroll around the city-center during the bright days of the famous White Nights, will be the best way to prolong the party after the club.

 These two nightclubs are closed since 2007(or end of 2006), maybe it will be open in future, but nobody really knows there and when. Now very popular place for a night life is Konyshennaya place, near Church on a Split Blood. There are nignt clubs Mod, Achtung Baby and Bubble Bar. It`s good opportunity because all these places are in the same building and in the real center of Saint-Petersburg. Every week there are some concerts of Russian and foreign groups anf DJs, and always young non-agressive people.

In summer 2007 in the courtyard of this building was another special summer bar Dunes , it was DJs, lot of sand, shiny people, hammocks and fun.
