The public transportation in Maui provides service on the most popular areas of the island. The service consists of public buses, and there are seven major routes which travel to the central, south and west areas of Maui . There is no public bus service on Sundays, but the buses do run every other day of the week. Currently, the public bus system in Maui does not pick up or drop off passengers at the airport.

The fares for riding on a majority of the routes within the public bus system in Maui range from $1 to $3 each way, depending on the destination and the route. There are also two routes that are free to passengers.

In addition to the bus system within the main part of Maui , there is also a rural shuttle service available which usually runs three times a week, as well as two interisland ferry services that travel between Maui and Lana’i and Maui and Moloka’i. 

The Whales Village Shopping Center also has a shuttle bus that runs regularly throughout the day.
